On Wednesday, 22 October 2008, on behalf of the School of Engineering and Computing at KBU International College, I initiated a Forum on Technopreneurship. It's a simple forum to gather some of the ex-KBU Engineering and Computing students who have successful set up their own business upon graduation.
Two speakers shared their success stories to the KBU students. Each speaker spoke for about 30 minutes sharing about their business/company, their aspirations on technopreneurship, how they started, struggles encountered and advice. Then, it was followed by a Question and Answer session.
The speakers were:
- Mr Melvin Wong, CEO of Just Mobile Sdn Bhd (MSC Status Company)
- Mr Vince Tan, author, software developer, business consultant and most of all an evangelist in Internet Marketing.
Actually, I invited four speakers. Unfortunately, the other two couldn't make it. Though the crowd was small, it was a good start, and a good exposure to students on technopreneurship. I'm pleased with the coverage featured in the various local newspapers. Personally, I enjoyed the session. It was a good time of catching up with them. I'm really proud of them.
