ISTJ vs ISFP

When I did the personality test last November 2007 at a workshop in my college the result was ISTJ. When I looked at my results, I realised that I could have been either T or F, and T or J. Each score differed by one only. The result could have swung either way.
The workshop entitled "SalesPeak!: Mastering The Fine Art of Selling Workshop" was conducted by Mr Fabian Fidelis, CEO and Principal Trainer of ProActive Training. The descriptions below were taken from his book.

My Testimony – A Blessed Child of God
A Testimony of how God has been faithful to me, His love for me and His goodness to me.
From a very young age, I know that God exists and loves us but do not know God personally. I didn’t know His characters well. I was in this state until Secondary School.
During my Secondary School, I received Bible study materials through the mail. Nowadays, we call it snail mail. Till this day, I still don’t know who arranged them to be sent to me (God bless the sister or brother). The Bible study materials were from Australia. From the materials, I began to know more about God and Jesus – who God is and what He did for me. The materials guided me to say the sinners’ prayer and that’s how I accepted Christ into my life.
I didn’t really grow much in my relationship with God. It was a shallow relationship.
In 1990, I went to Australia to further my studies.
I believed that God has prepared my path to Australia. My father accompanied me, on my first trip to Sydney, Australia. It was my first time traveling so far away from home.
On the plane, I sat next to 2 girls. We chatted with them and found out that they are Christians, and they joined the Overseas Christian Fellowship in Australia. They were going to Melbourne and I was going to Sydney. Before the plane stopped at Melbourne, they gave me a contact number of a Christian sister in Sydney. When I reached Sydney, I contacted her and we met at the hotel where I stayed. She took me to the University and introduced me to other Malaysians who are also Christians. She has also invited me to the Overseas Christian Fellowship meeting.
I joined the fellowship every Friday and became one of the committee members as well.
Till this day, I’m really grateful to that Christian sister. We still keep in touch. Praise the Lord!
The fellowship has helped me to deepen my relationship with God. Looking back, God has indeed faithfully guided my spiritual walk – from the day I left Malaysia until my return from Australia. God has brought so many Christian brothers and sisters to my life to support me during my 4 years stay in Australia.
In Joshua 1:5
God said to Joshua:
5 No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.
This promise is still true and real to believers today – “God will never leave you nor forsake you.” I have tasted the faithfulness of God – He keeps His promise.
In 1992, I attended a Conference organized by the Overseas Christian Fellowship. The Conference was held in Brisbane, at the north of Australia, in the state of Queensland. I will never forget my first personal experience of God during one of the worship sessions. We were singing the song the Power of Your Love. When it came to the chorus –
Hold me close, Let Your love surround me
Bring me near, Draw me to Your side
And as I wait, I rise up like an eagle
And I will soar with You
Your Spirit leads on
By the power of Your love.
I could feel His hands holding me, His love surrounding me. I felt so close to Him. I had tears in my eyes. I could feel His love for me – so real, so personal. I will never ever forget that moment. It was a wonderful assurance of His love for me. I felt surrounded by his presence. Whenever I am depressed, I will always remind myself of that experience – God loves me, I know it and have felt it as well.
Coincidently, not by chance, God spoke to me of His love for me again in Brisbane when I went there for training in 2001. I bought a book entitled – “Too busy Not to Pray” by Bill Hybels and started reading it before going back to Malaysia. God gave me another assurance of His love from the book. I read that passage while I was at the airport waiting for my flight home. The passage said – “I love you not because of the things you do for me”. You don’t have to do something for me to love You. I love You as You are”. Wow ! I felt that it was God speaking to me directly from the words. As I read, tears flowed from my eyes. He loves me just as I am – not because I have to do this or that to earn His love. He loves me as who I am. That kind of love is for me only – very personal and unique. I felt so joyful, so precious and special. Now, not only the Bible tells me that He loves me, but I have personally experienced His love.
One more amazing thing - One day, I found out that the bible study materials that I have received during my Secondary School days were from Brisbane, Australia! Not sure what God is trying to tell me. Indeed, Australia has a very special place in my heart because of my experience with God.
The verse that impacted me most throughout my journey as a child of God is from Psalm 37:4.
Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Over the years, I have learnt that as I delight in God – praying, reading His Word, serving Him, His desires became my desires. My desires are no longer mine but His. God has blessed me amazingly as I walk with Him daily – blessings from family and friends, church and a good working environment. There were ups and downs but God was faithful and He delivered me from every struggle that I faced. I have seen and tasted that the Lord is good. I earnestly pray that all my family members, relatives and friends will experience the amazing, unconditional and sacrificial love of God.
Indeed, these 3 characteristics of God have touched my life the most:

God is love
God is good

First Swimming Lesson
I had my first swimming lesson at the Kelab Golf Negara Subang (Subang Country Golf Club) on Saturday, 1 December 2007 – one day before my birthday. The sky threatened to rain that evening. It drizzled but it didn’t pour. Phew!
We arrived at the club at about 6 pm. The class doesn’t start until 6:30 pm. Jordan had his second fun time in the swimming pool. The first was at the Berjaya Redang Resort. Initially, he was a bit scared. After awhile, he got braver and was walking in the children’s pool. He fell into the water twice, so, got frightened a bit but was ok again.
At 6:30 pm, our friend, Patrick introduced me to the instructor. Patrick’s son, Dylan was in the same class as I am. He is 6 years old. There was another little girl in the class – also about 5 – 6 years old. Only 3 of us in the class - I was the only adult. Hehehe! The name of the instructor is Jason. He’s quite tall, slim, dark and not bad looking. He should be younger than me.
The other 2 kids have already learnt before. They can swim already, whereas I can’t even float! The first thing that the instructor asked me to do is to put my entire head into the water. I did it twice. Next, I was asked to hold my breath in the water for as long as I could. I was not fully relax, and only managed to hold my breath for about 5 seconds. Then, he taught me how to breathe out in the water through my nose. I was supposed to create bubbles through my nose for about 4 seconds. Firstly, I should hold my head up slightly, then, take a deep breath using my mouth. Secondly, lower my head into the water, and breathe out through my nose, creating bubbles at the same time. Dylan was really good at it and he even tried to teach me. Hahaha! It was uncomfortable for me because I was having a runny nose on that day. So, I was actually blowing mucus into the pool. Hahaha! I practiced that for a few times but still not so good at it.
Next, I got to do some kicking. With my hands holding the edge of the pool and my head in the water, I tried to kick as much as I could before I ran out of breath. Most of the time, I couldn’t kick to the surface. I managed to do it only once or twice. The instructor seemed happy with it. I need to keep my head down, straighten my leg and kick from my feet. My arms should be straight as well, and hold them close to my ear. He also asked me to count in the water. I should hold my breath for at least 10 seconds. There are just too many things to remember. He noticed that my shoulder was quite tensed. He asked whether my shoulder was aching. I replied that my arms are slightly painful. I was not fully relaxed – this is my main problem. When my whole body is fully relaxed, then only, I could kick better. I think I was thinking too much about what I need to do. Probably I tried too hard. Well, I still can’t float yet. At least, I have learnt some breathing and kicking techniques, and my kicking did improve at some point. It’s still a long way to go. The lesson was conducted for 45 minutes. My next class is on 22 December 2007. Hmm….where can I practice?

Down Memory Lane - Concerts
1988 - First concert - Anita Mui in Concert featuring the Grasshoppers (Kota Kinabalu)
The best thing about this concert – “It was free!” My Aunt Mary who works with the Press got complimentary tickets, and I got to sit on the second row from the stage! I actually had to lift up my head to see her – so close indeed. I could almost touch her. She was both a great singer and performer. The Grasshoppers were wonderful too and of course good looking.
1994 – Sally Yeh and George Lam (Kuala Lumpur)
I was working in Kuala Lumpur, then.
The thing that I remember most about the concert:
During a short Q&A session, she told the audience that we can ask any question about her except about “Wu So Lou” aka George Lam the guy with the moustache. It was kind of a sensitive issue at that time.
Overall, it was great vocal and entertainment.

It was drizzling in the middle but he still continued to perform energetically. The stage was in the open air but our seats were covered.

I was really excited about it. We weren’t dating yet. We just went to the concert as friends. Hmm…my heart did beat a little bit faster as I sat next to him. Until today, I could still remember what shirt he wore – a light blue one. Michael Jackson was no doubt superb! Everything was awesome – singing, dancing, stage prop, etc. It was unforgettable!
Salvage Garden @ Shah Alam Stadium
I think this is the shortest concert that I’ve ever attended. Before the seats were warmed up, the concert ended. Actually, Seng Chor and I were slightly late but the concert was really short too. We have started dating.
Favourite song of the night – Lemon Tree.
Kelly Chen @ Arena of Stars, Genting
This is the first free concert with Seng Chor, and first concert as husband and wife. He won the tickets through a competition. Cool, eh?

@ Bukit Jalil National Stadium
When Yoke Kheng first asked me about the concert, I didn’t hesitate and agreed almost immediately. It’s cool to attend his concert for the second time, and I was happy to take a break from Jordan.
Yoke Kheng, Serene and I arrived before 7:30 pm. We walked towards the Green area for the RM 138 ticket. The queue was much shorter than the RM88 ticket section. We waited for about 5 to 10 minutes for the gates to open. Our bags were checked briefly. Then, we bought ourselves dinner – I had sandwiches and fruits. Next, we walked to Block 210 for our seats. Surprisingly, the ushers told us that our seats have been upgraded to RM 198, which is the lower tier. The reason they gave was that our seat area was blocked by the spotlights. Well, whatever the reason is, we thank God that we could be closer to Jacky. So, we were ushered to our new seats and I started to munch my dinner. It was about 7:45 pm. Kevin arrived shortly after that. He was the one who bought the tickets for us. He bought it before the promotional period, and this could also be the reason for the upgrade as well. J
The concert started at about 8:40 pm, only about 10 minutes late, and guess what, it drizzled as well…but only for a few minutes. Anyway, our seats were covered, only the stage and VIP seats were in the open air. He told the audience that he would be willing to get soaked in the rain together with them. The audience screamed with delight.
He shared that he started his singing career at the age of 23, and that’s 23 years ago. Well, we could then all guess his age – 23+23 = 46 years old! He has 2 daughters. As he shared about his family, he sang songs that he composed especially for them. He composed 2 songs one for his first daughter and another for his wife. He proudly said that he composed both the lyrics and music. He composed for his daughter first because he made a promise to compose for her. Later, his wife also made a request for a song. As for the second daughter, he hasn’t written a song for her yet, as she doesn’t know how to ask him to do so. However, for the time being, he dedicated a Mandarin song to her. The song that he wrote for his wife is really beautiful. He said that anyone can use this song and dedicate it to their loved ones – wife, husband, girlfriend, and boyfriend. He quipped that the more we use the songs, the ‘fatter’ (i.e. richer) he gets. Hehehe! Actually, I was expecting him to flash pictures of his family as he sang those songs dedicated to them. Oh well….
He jokingly shared that he didn’t know that man exists until he was 3 years old. Most of the male in his family – father, uncles, cousins were sailors. He didn’t get to see his father until he was 3 years old because his father came back every 3 years from his sailing trip. So, at 3 years old, he realized that there are men in the world. He has been surrounded by women all his life – now, he has 2 daughters, his wife is of course a woman, including the maids, there are 8 women staying in the house with him. That’s why he said that he understands women very well. The crowd cheered! Then, he added, “Of course, I also understand man because I am a man! More screaming and shouting from the crowd was heard.
Besides singing his own hit songs, he sang few songs from other singers as well – Cantonese and Mandarin. Some of the lyrics were shown on the screen so that the audience could sing along. Too bad I couldn’t read much. I would love to sing along with him. Thankfully, I managed to borrow the binoculars from Dolly. He definitely looked older (I could almost see his wrinkles on the forehead) but still got the boyish look when he smiled. I think he has a scar below his right eye.
He is a versatile entertainer/performer/artist. He joked, sang, danced and acted in the concert. I would say that the concert is divided into 4 parts – the Introduction, sharing of his life and family through words and songs, the musical drama – Perhaps Love (cool acting by Jacky), and the final encore. The encore itself was more than half an hour! Amazing!
The concert ended at about 12:05 am – 3 and a half hours! There was a jam at the exit, but we eventually avoided it and had a smooth journey after that. I reached home at 1:30 am. This is another highlight for me this year.

My Tooth is Officially Dead!
At around 5:20 pm, Tuesday, 11 September 2007, my front tooth died! The root canal procedure has been completed. Crowning is the next step, and that will be administered after 3 months. It’s going to cost a bomb because I had to crown both of my big front teeth! Hmm…the crowning seems like a funeral service for my tooth. It will big be sealed permanently. The colour of the original tooth will grow darker and darker (c.f. In the coffin, our body rots, and only bones remain).
There is no more pain, but I still need to be careful not to bite hard stuff. The tooth is still fragile. I actually asked the dentist whether my tooth would drop off easily or not. He said no. Phew! I almost had sleepless nights thinking that my tooth may just fall off while I lecture. Hahaha!
My Mum encouraged me by saying that my perseverance will pay off when one day I’ll have 2 beautiful front teeth and a great smile! She added, “Remember there’s always light at the end of a long, dark tunnel.”

My tooth is dying
I have been having discomfort on my top left big front tooth since Saturday, 1 September 2007. It affected the entire left side of my mouth. Initially, I wasn’t sure where the pain came from. I endured the pain but it got much worse on Monday (3 September 2007). I could chew and bite using only the right side of my mouth. So, I sent out prayer requests to some of my Growth Group members. I felt better the next day and realized that the main problem is actually my top left big front tooth. Finally, I decided to visit the dentist (the last person I want to see on earth) on Wednesday but all the appointments were booked. I managed to get the appointment fixed on Thursday, 6 September at 5 pm. Yoke Kheng prayed for me through msn before my appointment. Thank God for peace and I was not fearful.
I arrived at around 4:45 pm. The dentist attended to me 5 minutes after that. I told him my problem. He checked the surrounding teeth, knocking each one gently. I went “Ouch!” when he knocked on the affected tooth. He checked for cavity and found none. After the examination, he told me that my tooth is most probably infected. My tooth had been traumatized with much filling in the days of my youth. Now, the nerves inside the tooth are infected. The best treatment for it is root canal treatment or endodontic therapy. I was told that I need 2 – 3 sessions to complete the procedure. The dentist also explained briefly the steps involved, and the best thing is that the entire treatment will be pain-free.
What is a root canal treatment?
A root canal treatment is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp (tissues) is removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned, filled and sealed.
What happens during root canal treatment?
Step 1:
A local anesthetic is given.
Step 2:
An x-ray on the affected tooth is performed.
Step 3:
The pulp is removed from the pulp chamber and root canals. Tiny instruments are used to clean the root canals. A temporary filling is placed in the opening to seal the opening and protect the tooth between visits.
In the last session, the temporary filling will be replaced with a permanent filling.
My x-ray showed that there is a hairline crack in the tooth. The dentist asked whether I bite anything hard before I experienced the pain. I told him that I couldn’t remember biting anything hard. He said that the crack will not affect the root canal treatment, and so he began the drilling and the cleaning. The whole treatment took less than 30 minutes. I was a bit nervous but it was indeed pain-free. The left side of my upper lip was numb after that. At the end, I was given some pain-killers to relieve the pain. I took one dose of it before dinner. It was slightly painful.
The dentist explained that I should crown the tooth after 6 months. Crowns are type of dental restoration which, cemented into place, fully cup over the portion of a tooth that lies at and above the gum. The dental crown becomes my tooth’s outer surface. If I don’t crown my tooth, its colour will grow darker and eventually become black as the tooth is already dead. So, crowning strengthens and improves the cosmetic appearance of my tooth. We saw the Rasa Sayang Commercial!
Seng Chor and I caught the commercial twice on tv last night. The first time was on TV3 at around 6:45 pm, and the second time was on Astro Wah Lai Toi, 10:10 pm.Few of my colleagues spotted us in the ad as well. More than 50 of Seng Chor's colleagues spotted him. They even sang the song, "Rasa Sayang" as Seng Chor entered the office.
It's really fun to watch it over and over again. I think soon we can memorise all the scenes. Hehehe.

The Teoh Family is on tv commercial!!!
Friends saw us live on various tv channels last night. Hope to catch it one of these days. It should be shown until 16 September 2007.
The tv commercial is also available here - Rasa Sayang
Click on the first commercial - Rasa Sayang (120 secs) and you will see Seng Chor and Jordan very clearly in the beginning. I was partially hidden. The whole group appeared at the end. One of the commercials began with the picture of our group. You can actually see it in one of the thumbnails. We appeared in a few.

I think Jordan is the youngest in the commercial. He looked so blur.
